An award winning film program, PitchNic is the next step in your creative and technical film pursuits.
Spend 12 months with 5 other passionate, experienced, creative teens to write, shoot and edit a 20-minute film.
Broken into two groups, documentary and narrative, each student spends time working on story ideas and then pitches them to a panel of film professionals. The winning six pitches advance to the final round and are narrowed down to four final films by the class. Each film is created by a team of three; a director, producer, and cinematographer. The rest of the class is spent learning first-hand how to create a professional-caliber film.
PitchNic films have screened at over 30 festivals internationally, including the Sundance Film Festival, Los Angeles International Film Festival, Westport Youth Film Festival, and CineYouth Film Festival.
This class requires that you participate in an Assessment Day. Assessment Days are usually 2 hours and are held prior to the start of class. They are a great way for us to get to know you a little bit better. And, for you to get to learn more about the program that you are applying for. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and to clarify the expectations of the class. You will be notified of the Assessment Day by your mentor via email and/or phone. If you are not able to attend the Assessment Day, you must arrange to meet with the mentor at an alternate time. If you have any questions about the Assessment Day or the class in general, please contact Paige at firstname.lastname@example.org.
