The term Woodshedding was used by musicians who would go to a solitary space to practice a musical instrument for hours on end. At Spy Hop, our Woodshedding workshop is a chance for young songwriters to hone their craft and practice their songs in a safe place among peers. If you want to learn about lyric writing, singing, and chord progressions and then have a chance to put a song together and perform for an audience, Woodshedding is for you!
What happens in this class:
- Lyric writing workshops
- Constructing chord progressions
- Melody writing workshops
- Singing workshops
This class requires an Interview Session with the teaching mentor prior to being accepted into the class. The Interview Session is simply a way for the mentor and student to get to know each other and to assess interests, skill level, and set expectations for the program. Prospective students will be notified prior to the start of class of their acceptance into the program. The teaching mentor for Woodshedding will contact prospective students directly to schedule interviews.
