If you felt good about a drop-in class, your next step is to try out one of our 3-6 week long introductory classes.

From Foundational, you can spend 4 months getting real world experience and earn a $200 stipend.

Yes! Our in-school programs are free, thanks to funding from the Utah State Legislature and Utah State Board of Education. POPS supports arts education in Utah’s public schools by creating customized and meaningful offerings from professional arts organizations (schools.utah.gov)
Yes! Please reach out to our team by filling out this form. Participating in your afterschool program may be part of POPS (our free, in-school programming), or it may fall under our community programming, especially if you're looking for a more flexible or longer-term partnership.
No, we don't only work with arts classes! We'll work closely with you to infuse media arts into whatever curriculum you teach. We've done this with nearly every subject, including Lanugage Arts classes, Science classes, and even P.E. classes.

Yes, our POPS programs tie directly to Utah’s Core Standards in both the visual and media arts. We meet standards for the Fine Arts four strands: Create, Perform/Present/Produce, Respond, and Connect.

To set up a field trip at Spy Hop, please fill out this form to get in touch with our team. A field trip includes a tour of our facility, with information about our programs. We also would be glad to set up a career presentation or short workshop* with one of our teaching artists. Field trips typically take about an hour. *Workshops have capacity limits, but we will do our best to accommodate your group
We will tailor our programming to you and your classroom's needs. For our workshops*, we typically can get through our curriculum in 1-4 visits, depending on your class duration. Professional Outreach Program in the Schools (POPS), managed by the Utah State Board of Education and sponsored by the Utah State Legislature, supports arts education in Utah’s public schools by bringing professional arts organizations’ educational programs to schools for free or subsidized costs. The goal is to connect schools, teachers, administrators and students with high quality arts learning experiences with professional artists. Spy Hop can bring assemblies, workshops, career presentations and tabling to schools statewide. Our in-school offerings focus on the media arts, including podcasting, filmmaking, beatmaking, video game design, comics, animation, and so much more.
Yes, we provide all the equipment needed when we come to your school—whether that's iPads for digital animation, beatmaking kits for making tunes, cameras for filmmaking, or audio gear for podcasting. The only thing we need from. you is access to power and WiFi.
