Custom Concepts: Designing Sneakers as Personal Art

In this creative, hands-on workshop, students will explore sneaker customization as a form of personal expression and visual art. Led by JSM 801 Customs, students will design and transform their own sneakers into one-of-a-kind art pieces.

Students will:

  • Customize sneakers using professional materials and techniques.
  • Develop a unique visual concept inspired by their own style and interests.
  • Apply hands-on artistic skills to turn everyday objects into creative statements.

Students will learn:

  • The creative process behind sneaker customization and streetwear culture.
  • Techniques for painting, detailing, and finishing custom footwear.
  • How art, fashion, and identity intersect in contemporary design.
  • How creative entrepreneurs turn passion projects into viable careers.

This workshop empowers students to express their individuality while learning how art and design can shape culture and community.
