YOUTHVOICES SUMMIT

WHAT MATTERS TO US
Spy Hop Youth Voices Summit

Spy Hop is hosting our second Youth Voices Summit: What Matters to Us in Salt Lake City, Utah from July 31 – August 4, 2024. The summit aims to gather 20 young and aspiring media artists (ages 15-19) from across the state of Utah to celebrate their artistic talents and their vibrant contributions to the creative and cultural fabric of their communities. By harnessing the power of storytelling, participants will share their unique perspectives on the world as a means for self-expression, community building, and transformation.

At the Youth Summit, young media artists lead and participate in workshops, hands-on projects, local tours, and career exploration. Together, students from rural communities across Utah will come together to share in their collective passion for media arts as an art form and a career pathway.

Youth Summit Schedule Overview

The Youth Voices Summit will be held at Spy Hop’s Kahlert Youth Media Arts Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The Kahlert Youth Media Arts Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed with students in mind — it offers ample classrooms, hangout spaces, a sound stage, event spaces, and access to professional gear.

Facilitated and chaperoned field trips to museums, art experiences, and local attractions will also happen in and around Salt Lake City.
