Heatwave Festival: Thursday, July 18, 2013
Red Butte Gardens, 300 Wakara Way, 7:00pm
Heatwave Fest! A celebration of Spy Hop’s yearlong music programs.
Over the past year, Musicology students formed a band, wrote original songs and recorded a full studio album. Loud & Clear Youth Radio produced over 50 radio shows on KRCL and Spy Hop Records showcased twelve local youth musicians through their video podcast, 801 Sessions.
Spy Hop’s Heat Wave Fest is your chance to meet the next generation of musical and radio artists from Spy Hop’s Loud & Clear Audio programs and hear how Spy Hop has helped them get a leg up in an industry they love.
Loud & Clear Youth Radio will emcee the night and the Spy Hop Musicology band, Jumping Trains, will perform their new album. Bring a picnic and join music and radio industry professionals, students, friends and families to celebrate these accomplishments over the year.
We’re thrilled to be partnering with RED BUTTE GARDEN this year to present this event on their beautiful stage. Last year was a blast but now we are making this event bigger and better! Check out the awesome show by Mystique last year and then come check out this years band Jumping Trains.
The Loud & Clear Audio programs at Spy Hop have been very busy this year, and we want you to celebrate their successes and hear directly from them about how Spy Hop has helped them get a leg up in an industry they love.
The Musicology band, Jumping Trains, has spent the past 9 months writing, practicing and recording their debut album. The band has been playing shows around the valley in order to prepare for this headlining show.
Spy Hop Records launched a new and innovative music video platform where they produce monthly segments on local youth indie musicians, promoting them with an interview and music video. Tune in below to their latest find, local artist, Solarsuit.
