Resonate

Hip-Hop production

Resonate is a fast-paced hip-hop production program that celebrates the use of rap as a vehicle for self-expression and social change. In this class, you will be challenged to write verses that relate to your life, your community, and the world. Using Ableton music production software, you will produce original beats, learn about sampling, basic music theory and mixing basics for your recordings. You and your crew will perform your music on the radio and in front of live audiences.

What Happens in this Class:

Expand your beatmaking abilities on instruments and software.
Learn production techniques on industry standard software currently used by professionals in the music industry.
Increase your sense of rhythm and flow.
Create a Hip-hop group/project with your peers. This involves either beatmaking, rapping, or singing. This group will put an album or EP out on Soundcloud as well as performing some live shows.
Practice/ brush up on scratching vinyl on a DJ setup.

Interview Session
This class requires attending an Interview Session with the program mentor prior to the start of class. This is a great way for us to get to know you a little bit better. And, for you to learn more about the program you are applying for. The Interview Sessions are the perfect time for you to ask questions and to gain a better understanding of the expectations of the class. You will be notified of the Interview Session by the mentors via email and/or phone. If you are not able to attend, you must arrange to meet with the mentors at an alternate time.
