Accessed through our large aviation-style door, the patio offers 3,500 square feet of stunning city and mountain views. With concrete tiles, wood benches, and greenery planters, this outdoor space will bring your open-air vision to life.
Host up to 180 guests for a standing or cocktail-style event, or 120 for a seated gathering. Whether it’s an intimate dinner or a full-scale production, the space is designed to flex with your needs.

Tables and chairs are available to rent at an additional fee. 60″ tables can be rented for $10/table, 24″ cocktail tables can be rented for $6/table, and black chairs can be rented for $3/chair.

We have a 240 sq ft catering kitchen equipped with an industrial fridge, chest freezer, double-wide sink, and prep tables; perfect for staging, plating, and serving. We do not have an ice machine or food warmers on site.

Our high-end short-throw projector delivers crisp visuals without casting shadows—perfect for film screenings, presentations, and performances.
The Rooftop is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system featuring 30 JBL speakers, providing an immersive surround sound experience. For your convenience, we offer two handheld microphones, two hands-free microphones, and six additional XLR inputs, allowing you to easily add more wired microphones or instruments to suit your event’s needs.
The Rooftop is fully ADA accessible, inside and out. We have a standard-sized elevator that takes you from street level to The Rooftop, along with ADA-compliant restrooms. We also offer devices for the hearing impaired.
When you rent The Rooftop, your rental fees directly support Spy Hop, a youth media arts nonprofit offering free classes to teens in Salt Lake and beyond. Feel good knowing your rental fees go to a great cause!
Every event at The Rooftop is supported by at least one staff member, who will be on site from setup to teardown to assist with any facility needs and ensure everything runs smoothly. For your peace of mind, we have cameras throughout the venue and monitor them during each event.
Downtown parking can be tough. There is 2-hour street parking on 900 South and nearby streets, as well as a paid lot on Washington Street. Taking public transit? We’re located next to the 900 South TRAX station and the 900 South (9-line) bus stop, both just steps from the venue.

Absolutely! We have an open vendor policy, which means you’re welcome to bring in whatever works best for your event—whether that’s a full catering team, your favorite local takeout, or a homemade spread.

Alcohol is allowed at the venue, and the best part? There’s no additional charge to bring it in. Cheers to that!
To keep things compliant and safe, all alcohol must be served by certified bartenders. You’ll need to hire a professional bartending and/or catering service in accordance with Utah state law.
If your event is public or ticketed, you will also need a permit through Salt Lake City and the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS).

We know finding parking in the city can be a challenge, but we’re here to make it easier! We reserve five spaces available for loading/unloading in our lot; there are also five first-come-first-served spots in our lot. There is street parking on 900 South (with a 2-hour limit) and nearby streets—please be mindful of residential parking restrictions. There is also a paid lot behind Try-Angles on 900 South and Washington Street.
For those using public transit, The Rooftop is conveniently located right next to the 900 South TRAX stop and on the 900 South (9-line) bus route, with both stopping just steps from the venue.

The Rooftop closes at midnight. All events must be wrapped up and the space vacated by that time.
We are located in a mixed-use zone downtown, and ask that you respect our neighbors by complying with Salt Lake City’s noise ordinance. This requires all music and loud noise to be reduced by 10 PM. Please help us ensure a smooth and respectful event for everyone!
We don’t currently provide linens for our tables, but don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! During your inquiry, we’d be happy to share a list of trusted vendors who can help you with rentals. You can often add linens through your catering service as well. Our standard table sizes make it easy to find the perfect linens from rental agencies.
We encourage you to get creative and bring your vision to life! The Rooftop is a blank canvas, perfect for everything from simple greenery and linens to full-on themed decor.
To help keep the space in top shape, we ask that any hanging decorations be secured using command strips or museum putty—no nails, tacks, or tape, please.

Securing your date is easy! If the date you want is available, simply fill out the inquiry form, and we’ll set up a consultation with our team. After we confirm all the details and the event quote, you’ll receive a final contract to sign and pay a $500 deposit to lock everything in.
Payments can be made easily through our secure portal using any major credit card or ACH. We do accept approved checks, but unfortunately, we’re unable to accept cash.
We’re happy to host all types of events! Milestone celebrations like birthdays, graduations, and other special occasions work wonderfully for up to 180 guests. For wedding ceremonies, receptions, and more formal events, we recommend 120 guests or fewer.
During your consultation, we’ll walk you through the details and make sure The Rooftop is the perfect fit for your event.
To ensure the safety and comfort of all our guests, we do not rent to minors without parental supervision. Additionally, we do not rent to college fraternities or sororities for any events.
