CAPSTONE PROGRAM

1 Resonate

Resonate is Spy Hop’s capstone hip-hop program. Celebrating the use of rap as a vehicle for self-expression and social change, teens in this program spend ten months together to form their own rap group and produce a full-length hip-hop album from scratch. From songwriting, to music-making, to recording, to performing across the valley, students receive state-of-the-art instruction from our full-time teaching audio artist, Nick, in collaboration with Get-It-Write Records.

Every summer, the community celebrates the music albums produced by both the Resonate and Musicology programs at Heatwave, Spy Hop’s annual album release music festival!

Where do I start?

You don’t need to be a pro artist to join Resonate! All you need are foundational musical skills. A great way to build those skills and prep for the Resonate audition is to take some of our foundational music and audio classes (which, as always, are free)!

In his freetime Nick is watching cartoons and making beats.
