Become a Design Apprentice and learn about what it takes to make design your career! With hands-on graphic design, 2D and 3D logo design, and real-world client experience, your time as an apprentice will help you build a professional portfolio and a clear path for next steps to make your artistic passion your profession. Learn how to be a real-world designer, meet industry professionals and other teens with similar interests! And, you’ll leave with a portfolio of work and have the opportunity to earn a $200 stipend! Students are expected to complete all projects in order to earn a stipend.
What happens in this class:
- Learn Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects to make vector images, create logos, font exploration, and video game art
- Learn Procreate to build illustrations, animations, cartoons and concept art. Work with clients to create projects and portfolio building work
Interview session:
This class requires an Interview Session with the teaching mentor prior to being accepted into the class. The Interview Session is simply a way for the mentor and student to get to know each other and to assess interests, skill level, and set expectations for the program. Prospective students will be notified prior to the start of class of their acceptance into the program. The teaching mentor for the Design Apprenticeship will contact prospective students 2 – 3 weeks before class begins, to schedule interviews for the Spring 2024 Design Apprenticeships.
