Become a Film Apprentice and learn about what it takes to make film your career! With hands-on experience working for clients on a film set, and real-world experience editing and managing projects, your time as an apprentice will leave you with a professional film portfolio and a clear path for next steps to make your passion your profession. Learn about cameras, lighting, and editing software as you create personal and client-based work. And, you’ll have the opportunity to earn a $200 stipend for your work.
Students are expected to complete all projects in order to earn a stipend.
What happens in this class:
- Create film treatments
- Learn the basics of screenwriting
- Understand the process of video production
- Make short audio visual projects for real clients
- Learn how to use DSLR cameras and basic lighting equipment
- Learn how to edit using Adobe Premiere Pro
- Develop a professional portfolio
This class requires an Interview Session with the teaching mentor prior to being accepted into the class. The Interview Session is simply a way for the mentor and student to get to know each other and to assess interests, skill level, and set expectations for the program. Prospective students will be notified prior to the start of class of their acceptance into the program. The teaching mentor for the Film Apprenticeship will contact prospective students directly to schedule interviews.
