About this class

Make some noise! Join the Music Journalism bootcamp to connect with and document the music community. Write music reviews, get press passes to concerts, take photos, interview musicians, use recording equipment, and contribute to a fully youth-created community music zine! Plus, you’ll make friends, be a part of the music scene, and get to talk about the music you love. Register today for this two-month audio and music journalism bootcamp!

WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS CLASS:

  • learn photography skills
  • document live concerts
  • interview musicians
  • learn to use recording equipment, like microphones
  • edit interview clips in audio editing software
  • contribute to a youth-created community music zine! (zines can be fully analog or built with digital tools like Illustrator)

Note: this class requires an interview with a mentor! This is just to learn more about your skill level, interests and set some expectations for the program — plus a chance to ask questions if you have any. We’ll share your acceptance news before class kicks off!
